• The Les Cheneaux Lions Club generously donated $1,000 to the Les Cheneaux Early Learning Center in July. This generous donation will help to support program supplies and materials.
• The Chippewa County Counsel for Youth and Families, a subcommittee of the Great Start Collaborative, was chosen by Central Savings Bank, as this year’s recipient of the Community Spirit Award. As the recipient, we have received a donation in the amount of $5,000. The generous donation will support the Welcome Wee Ones project which provides valuable educational resources and materials for new parents. Bags filled with local community resources, parenting books, safety supports, developmental toys, and children’s books are delivered to new parents by MyMichigan Health System - Sault Campus and local home visitors. Over the past five years, we have distributed over 800 bags to new parents in Chippewa County.

Description:  This request is for Helen Craig, Consultant, to attend the National Council for Social Studies Conference.

Additional request for Dena Mayer, Director of Finance and Human Resources, to visit MILAF Board of Trustee headquarters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, tentatively scheduled for September 26 and 27, requesting out of state travel for up to 4 days (including travel days) with final dates TBD. All costs are covered by MILAF.
