Description:
The Godley ISD Family and Community Engagement Committee are volunteers from across the district including parents, staff, and other stakeholders. The mission of the FACE Committee is to stand in the gap between the schools and the community and provide opportunities to bring the community of Godley together to support the education of the children in our school district. We ask our members to "Be the FACE of Godley!" and to serve as a liaison, especially to those in the community who may not have any reason to engage in the schools. We feel that when the greater Godley community is working together for the children we are better on all fronts. |

Description:

Description:
The April 30, 2024 preliminary values were released by Hood, Johnson, and Tarrant counties for the 2024 tax year, which allows Godley ISD to estimate tax revenue for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Description:
With the Fiscal Year changing to June 30 Year end, there are new Tentative Budget Calendar Dates for 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and 2025-2026 Fiscal Years.

10)a) Consider Consent Agenda Items
Description:
The consent agenda shall include items of a routine and/or recurring nature grouped together under one action item. All such items shall be acted upon by one vote without separate discussion, unless a Board Member requests that an item be withdrawn for individual consideration. The remaining items shall be adopted under a single motion and vote as applicable.

Description:
Review of current year-to-date budget to actuals history and check register for the general operating fund, child nutrition fund, debt service fund, construction projects, and after-school program.

Description:
Review of current year-to-date tax collections of M&O and I&S from Johnson, Hood, and Tarrant Counties.

Description:
Budget Amendment to add the increase in State Revenue from the 2022 Tax Value Audit with Perdue Brandon and the Comptroller's office, along with the increased maintenance costs associated with HVAC repairs, roof repairs, and increase in property insurance with new facilities now completed.

10)a)5) Consider Approval of the Godley ISD Board Meeting Schedule for the 2024-2025 School Year

10)a)6) Consider Approval of TEA Low Attendance Day Waivers
Description:
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) offers attendance waivers for missed school days, low attendance days, and additional days of school year (ADSY). Districts or campuses can request a waiver for excused absences if instructional days are missed or if attendance is low due to weather, health, or safety issues.

10)a)7) Consider Approval of MOU with Johnson County JJAEP for the 2024-2025 School Year
Description:
This is a Memorandum of Understanding between Johnson County Juvenile Board and Godley ISD. This is pursuant to Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code. The Juvenile Board has been mandated to develop a JJAEP for mandatory offenses and discretionary placements. The parties agree that the Johnson County JJAEP is a cooperative effort between the educational community and the juvenile justice system with the primary goals being education and rehabilitation. The term of this MOU is through July 31, 2025.

10)c) Discussion and possible consideration on GISD's Innovative Courses for the 2023-2024 School Year
Description:
Innovative courses allow districts to offer state-approved innovative courses to enable students to master knowledge, skills, and competencies not included in the essential knowledge and skills of the required curriculum (Texas Administrative Code [TAC] Section 74.27). With the approval of the local board of trustees, school districts and charter schools may offer any state-approved innovative courses. |
10)d) Discussion and Possible Consideration on YMCA After School Program
Description:
Godley ISD has been in conversation with the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth about partnering with us to provide after-school care to our students. With the retirement of our current Cub Club Director, this program would replace Cub Club and be offered at each of our elementary campuses. |
10)e) Consider Renewal of the Optional Flexible School Day Program (OFSDP)
Description:
Optional Flexible School Day Program (OFSDP) allows districts to provide flexible hours and days of attendance for students who meet at least one of the requirements of the Texas Education Code §29.0822(a). The goal of the
program is to improve graduation rates for students who are in danger of dropping out of school, have dropped out, or are behind in core subject courses. |
10)f) Consider Approval and Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials Survey
Description:
In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), §31.1011 local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to certify annually to the State Board of Education (SBOE) and the commissioner that students have access to instructional materials covering all Texas Essential Knowledge
and Skills (TEKS) for all required subjects, except physical education. Additionally, LEAs are required to certify that they protect against access to obscene or harmful content in compliance with the requirements for certification under the (i) the Children's Internet Protection Act (Pub. L. No. 106-554); (ii) Section 28.0022; (iii) Section 43.22, Penal Code; and (iv) any other law or regulation that protects students from obscene or harmful content. The TEKS Certification 2024-25 Survey includes a section for LEAs to certify they meet this requirement. |
