MSBA provides services to school board members and administrators. Some of the areas include: school board member training, policy services, lobbying and assistance on legal and technical issues. 2023-24 membership was $4,353 plus $750 for policy services.

9.2. Central Minnesota ERDC

CMERDC is a non-profit organization that serves as the volume purchaser for central Minnesota schools. In addition to paper and other supply items, they sell equipment, furniture, computers, copy machines, etc. and provide maintenance on the equipment. CMERDC also serves computer programs used in payroll and finance.

Sourcewell provides services out of Staples, MN including: spelling bee, knowledge bowl, education consulting and certain low incidence special services. Fees are accessed for each service provided.

The High School League provides services to extra-curricular activities including coordination of sectional and state tournaments and establishment of league rules that govern student participants. 2023-24 membership fee was $1525.

Cass County Economic Development Corporation provides assistance to entrepreneurs looking to open business throughout Cass County. Services include: loan packaging, coordination of financing and public loan funds. Business membership for 2023 was $375.

The Pine River Chamber of Commerce actively works to promote the City of Pine River and area businesses. Business membership for 2023-24 is $400.

9.7. Minnesota Rural Education Association

MREA is an association of school districts located in non-metropolitan Minnesota. The organization was founded in 1985 by a group of school board members and administrators who believed that non-metro school districts needed a clearer voice in St. Paul. 2023-24 dues were $2063.

10. Set Mileage Reimbursement Rate for Claims Incurred After January 1, 2024

12. Set District Legal Counsel and Identify those with Authority to Contact

The District legal counsel has been Kennedy and Graven. The recommendation is to stay with that firm. The recommended personnel with authority to contact legal counsel are the Board officers, Superintendent and designee.
