1.C. Welcome and Introductions of Visitors
Description:
At this time, the Board will hear public comment. The purpose of public comment is to allow members of the community to share their views with the Board on school-related matters that fall within the Board’s authority. Speakers are reminded that this is not a dialogue or question-and-answer session; the Board will listen, but will not respond or take action during public comment. Each speaker will be given up to [three] minutes to address the Board. Please begin by stating your name and, if you wish, your affiliation with the district. Comments must be directed to the Board as a whole, not to individual board members, staff, or other audience members. We ask that all comments remain civil and focused on issues, policies, and operations, rather than on individual students, employees, or community members. The Board will not permit comments that are obscene, threatening, defamatory, or that violate the privacy rights of students or staff. Personnel or student-specific concerns should follow the district’s established complaint or grievance procedures rather than being aired in public comment. The Board reserves the right to enforce reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions in order to ensure an orderly meeting and to allow as many voices as possible to be heard. |
