8.1. High School Graduation Date and End of Year Closing Date
Rationale:
Traditionally the closing day of school has been set at the April meeting along with the high school graduation date. Promotional exercises at the middle schools take place in the morning of the last day of school, Thursday, June 19, 2014. High school graduation will be scheduled for the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2014. School Closed: 12/10, 12/17, 1/3, 2/3, 2/5, 2/13, 2/14 Late Openings: 12/9, 1/10, 1/15, 1/22, 2/6, 2/20 Early Dismissals: 1/2, 1/21

8.2. Revisions to the Teacher Evaluation Plan
Rationale:
The State Board or Education approved flexibility options for the Teacher Evaluation Plan that was previously approved by the State Department of Education and this Board of Education. These flexibilities resulted from overwhelming concern from districts and teachers’ unions; focusing on the amount of time needed to complete the full evaluation program. Attached are the options developed by the District Professional Learning Team comprised of members selected by BAPS, BFT and the District Leadership Team.
