6.2.a. Continuing Grant from the United Way of West Central Connecticut for Kids in the Middle
Rationale:
The United Way has continued funding $15,000 for half of the Coordinator salary of the “Kids in the Middle” program at Chippens Hill Middle School. The remainder of this salary is paid through another grant. This program engages students in volunteer activities throughout the school and our community.

6.2.b. Education of Homeless Children and Youth
Rationale:
This grant provides educational and basic needs services to students in Bristol who are, or becoming, homeless. The funds are used to meet needs for tutoring, clothing, school supplies, extended day and extended year program.

Rationale:
Copies of the calendar were sent to all bargaining groups, P.T.O./P.T.A Presidents and the Parents Advisory Board asking them to review and submit input to the Human Resource Office by January 22, 2014.

Rationale:
Board of Education Members have asked to receive a quarterly review of enrollment figures. These are the current enrollment figures for the third quarter.

8.3. Return of Part of the North Wing of the former Westwoods School to the City
Rationale:
The Board of Education has retained total use of the north wing of the former Westwoods School since the school was returned to the City in 1987. A majority of district programming was moved from this wing due to budget constraints two years ago. Recently, staff from the City and school district met to determine whether space could be returned to the City as a means for moving Probate Court out of City Hall. The following motion specifies the rooms that the Board of Education will relinquish.
