July 11, 2016 at 6:00 PM - Board of Education AD-HOC JS/RS Renovation Committee Meeting

Rationale:  Dr. Carver and Mrs. Yonsky will be meeting with the Office of School Construction on July 7th to get clarification on changes in processes/funding.  They will provide the AD/HOC Committee an update.  

Rationale:  At the last meeting the committee discussed looking at the pro's and con's of what the Board approved prior and if the committee wanted the architects to explore other options, and if so, what, or reconsider some of the options going forward.

The committee discussed different options including a K-5 model and a PreK-5 model. It was the consensus of the committee not to explore this option.

It was consensus of the committee to explore:

1.  Keeping K-3 at Berry, K-3 at Rockwell and 4-5 and PreK at Johnson.

2.  Keeping PreK-3 at Berry, K-3 at Rockwell with additional space at Rockwell, and 4-5 at Johnson.

3.  Closing Rockwell and look at transportation costs, building options for additional expenses of use/renovation/closing, etc. and bring back to the committee.
