May 11, 2016 at 6:30 PM - Board of Education AD-HOC JS/RS Renovation Committee Meeting

At our last meeting DRA gave us a comprehensive look at the history of the project and studies which have been completed, resulting in the Board of Education making their recommendation to continue the current structure of two (2), K-3 schools (with the preschool remaining at Berry School) and one 4-5 school.

 

The next logical step and focus of our meeting would be to determine if we need to review other options, how we would create stakeholder engagement/community feedback (parents, staff, and community members) and next steps. As a result, I will facilitate a structured small group discussion on:

1. The pro's and con's with the existing model recommended by the Board of Education. This discussion would encompass the facilities, educational environment and instructional perspectives.
2. Do we want to explore other models? If yes, what would we want the administration and/or architects to explore?
3. To what extent do we need to include stakeholders in the discussion? When? How?
