VII. Middletown Public Schools Website and District Calendar
Speaker(s):
Robert Polselli
Rationale:
www.MiddletownSchools.org has evolved over the past five years, from a static source of information that quickly became outdated to a dynamic communication tool that is now moving in the direction of providing 24/7 online learning opportunities to expand our classrooms and provide a richer, more individualized learning environment for all students. As a result of the efforts of over 478 individual editors, including 241 teachers with their own classroom websites (online classrooms), www.MiddletownSchools.org now provides students and parents with timely information through features such as an integrated calendar system that links all school calendars to the district, a quick and easy way to search our entire faculty directory to locate individual online classrooms, and a sophisticated search engine that can locate information quickly. Beginning in September 2007, the website will provide the opportunity for students and parents to subscribe to district information through our eNotify system on the website.
