Presentation of RCISD Salary Audit performed by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) performed throughout the 2022-23 school year
Speaker(s):
Zach Hobbs - TASB
Description:
Mr. Hobbs will be presenting the results of RCISD's Salary Audit performed throughout the 2022-23 school year. Mr. Hobbs will also be presenting the comparison of RCISD salaries to other school districts in our area or of our size. Additionally, Mr. Hobbs will provide several models that will increase employee compensation over all at various levels.
As previously stated, no employee will decrease in base pay. However, there are some employees that may not see an increase. Please recall that the audit examined and provides recommendations for all RCISD employee salaries with the exception of the Superintendent. |
Consider action, if any, to approve the RCISD 2023-24 Employee Compensation Plan
Description:
Currently, RCISD is in a solid financial position and will remain strong for the foreseeable future. According to the TASB Pay Systems Review document, pages 10 - 14, eight different recommendations are listed. I advise the board to adopt all eight recommendations.
In specific, TASB recommendation #2, my recommendation to the board is to approve TASB - Model 4 as presented. Model 4 includes 5% teacher pay increase, which includes a general pay increase of $2,500 dollars for teachers, increasing the RCISD starting teacher salary to $43,000 for 0 years of teaching. Moreover, Model 4 aligns employee salaries, RCISD's salary scales, academic and extracurricular stipends. Model 4 further increases auxiliary personnel salaries and creates compensation for high-demand jobs. Lastly, Model 4 increases employee salary compensation for the district by $346,110 dollars. The total cost of employee compensation is $4,791,346 dollars for the 2023-24 school year. |
