8.K.1. Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program
Description:
INFO: **The purpose of the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office Criminal Justice Division, is to solicit applications from law enforcement agencies to equip peace officers with bullet resistant shields. The need for bullet-resistant shields by SISD Police Department is to make them accessible to all responding police officers to all active-shooter incidents and/or other major incidents with these shields that have the capabilities to stop and deflect handguns, rifles, and other projectiles such as rock aimed at the carried of a police entry team the affected area. The objective is to assign a bullet-resistant shield at each of the SISD high schools and two to the SISD Police Department Emergency Response Team.
