3.b. Employee Handbook
Description:
There were no major changes from last year. Contact information has been updated, and employee blackout dates for employee absences have been updated. We also made updates recommended by TASB to include changes in verbiage due to policies, but there were not any major changes.

3.c. Student Handbook
Description:
The student handbook was updated to include updated language from the TASB model. Other noteworthy changes include the posting of the board approved dresscode, adjustment to exclude middle school from semester exemptions, appendix for secondary chromebooks checkout, and addition of the campus discipline plans as an appendix.

3.d. Teacher Incentive Allotment Handbook and Announcement Flier

Description:
As part of our Teacher Incentive Allotment application process, we were to develop a TIA Handbook. This handbook has been created to help our teachers and administrators understand the process and criteria for earning a designation according to our local designation system. The handbook will be updated each year as we begin to phase in opportunities for more teachers to qualify. The flier will be posted on our website upon full approval from TEA. It will also be used to present at job fairs and teacher recruiting events.

3.e. Discuss Pre-K Enrollment Numbers
Description:
As of July 15, 2022 we have 25 students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten. Five of those students belong to staff members. These numbers will require two teachers and an aide. Please remember that if we get to 33 we will have to hire another aide.
Kindergarten total is currently at 46 students. |

5. Discuss and Possibly Approve Updates to the GISD Dual Credit Crosswalk
Description:
Ganado Secondary would like to expand dual credit opportunities for its students. We have added the option for students to take British Literature and American Literature in place of their 4th English or as an elective credit. This crosswalk will take effect during the 2022-23 school year.

Description:
The 2022-23 Student Code of Conduct has been updated to include recommended updates from TASB. Changes also include updates to campus and district contacts.

8. Discuss and Possibly Approve Implementation of a Professional Development Plan for GISD.
Description:
According to policy DMA, the Board is to annually review the SBEC continuing education and training clearinghouse published under Education Code 21.4514. According to the policy, we must have a plan that includes a schedule of the required clearinghouse training for our employees. This plan will serve as that schedule and also include training provided for curriculum, instruction, and assessment throughout the school year. It will be updated as needed and continually reviewed by the DEIC.

9. Discuss and Possibly Approve Appraisal Calendar
Description:
See attachment. Appraisal dates for the 2022-23 school year have been updated. Teachers will receive TTESS training during back-to-school in-service and submit their professional goals in Eduphoria prior to the start of instruction. Principals will review goals with their teachers and begin conducting formal observations on or after September 20, 2022. We will approve TTESS appraisers at the next scheduled board meeting to include our new superintendent.

Description:
Last year, the transfer enrollment deadline was on August 6, 2021. This year we are looking at setting this deadline as August 5, 2022.
