Description:  REASON FOR EMERGENCY: The District was notified on Friday of its current Hockley County Appraisal Board ("HCAB") representative's Ms. Keeling, ineligibility to serve on the HCAB. It was further notified that the District's replacement for Ms. Keeling must be acted upon by the LISD Board by not later than midnight, Tuesday, October 15, 2013. The Tax Code requires that the District have its representatives on the HCAB. It is the opinion of the administration that the notification on Friday of the ineligibility of one of its representatives on the HCAB and the impending deadline on Tuesday constitutes an "unforeseeable situation" for purposes of conducting an emergency meeting on less than 72 hours notice. The Action will include adoption of a resolution nominating two current Trustees to the HCAB.
