Public Hearing on intention of Meadow Independent School District to consider designating the Meadow Orsted Reinvestment Zone

In order for the Orsted Caprock Solar and Sundown Wind Projects to be eligible for a 313 Agreement, each must be located in area designated as a reinvestment zone, which the County or the District can create.  
Since time is of the essence to get the application process completed before chapter 313 expires, Orsted has requested that the District create the reinvestment zone instead of the County.

Discussion / Action Items

1. Discussion and possible action on a Resolution designating the Meadow Orsted Reinvestment Zone, establishing the boundaries thereof and providing for an effective date, pursuant to Chapters 312 and 313 of the Texas Tax Code

Proposed Motion: Pursuant to Chapters 312 and 313 of the Texas Tax Code, I move that the Board approve and adopt the Resolution, as presented: creating the Meadow Orsted Reinvestment Zone; establishing the boundaries thereof; providing for today, June 13, 2022, as the effective date of the Resolution; and, that the Superintendent, or his designee, be authorized to take such further action as may be required to establish the Meadow Orsted Reinvestment Zone.
2. Consider and approve a contract with TASB for a Facilities Assessment
3. Consider and approve a contract with SafeHaven for bullet resistant film on storefront doors
