Description:
Frances Rodriguez-Braswell made a motion to approve the minutes for September 13, 2005. Nora Vasquez seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5.A.1. Citizens of the Month
Description:
The awards for the students of the month were given out by Doyle Todd and Juan Gutierrez. The students that were present also received meals from Stars or McDonalds plus a free movie rental from Video Depot for their accomplishment.

Description:
Mr. Lara announced that Ms. Denise Martinez was the employee of the month for for October 2005. Ms. Martinez was handed a plaque by Mr. Lara.

6. Consideration and Approval of Update 76
Description:
Nora Vasquez made a motion to approve the Update 76. David Rodriguez seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7. Community Evening Classes
Description:
Mr. Lara gave the Board of Trustees some information on Computer Literacy classes and Library use. He let them know that the classes will be from 6:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

8. Consideration and Approval of the Teacher Appraisal Calendar
Description:
Frances Rodriguez-Braswell made a motion to approve the Teacher Appraisal Calendar for SY 2005-2006. Norma Llanes seconded the motion. Motion carried.

9. Board Training
Description:
Mr. Lara mentioned to the Board of Trustees that a board training by Region One was going to take place in Harlingen and that he had registered everyone to go. He did let them know that it would be from 6pm to 8pm.

10. TASA/TASB School Board Conference
Description:
Mr. Lara also gave the Board of Trustees information regardign the flight, hotel and conference to the TASA/TASB conference that will be held on October 28-30 in Houston, Texas.

11. National School Board Conference
Description:
Mr. Lara gave the board information about the National School Board Conference. Is has now been moved to Chicago and will be held on April 8-11, 2005.

12. Consideration and Approval for Willacy County Appraisal District Board of Directors Nominee
Description:
Mr. Lara asked the board to consider selecting one of the board for consideration as a candidate for the election.
The Board of Directors nominated Nora Vasquez as a candidate for the Willacy County Appraisal District Board of Directors.
Norma Llanes made a motion to nominate Nora Vasquez as nominee for the Willacy County Appraisal Board of Directors. Frances Rodriguez-Braswell seconded the motion. Motion carried.
