Description:
Maggie Sepulveda made a motion to approve the minutes from September 14, 2004. David Rodriguez seconded the motion. Motion carried.

4. Comments from Public Audience
Description:
Mr. Gene Rash from Port Mansfield presented to the board a backpack that the middle school students carry on a daily basis because there are no lockers for them to leave their belongings in. He says that it is a concern to him because the kids can hurt their backs carrying them all day. Another concern Mr. Rash had was that the breakfast and lunch menu was not a healthy one. He feels that the kids are not getting enough meats or vegetables served during lunch and the breakfasts are not healthy either. His last comment was on the holidays we acknowledge. He says that he dosen't understand why we don't have Labor Day off like everyone else.

Description:
Mr. Doyle Todd, Principal of Schools, announced the student citizens of the month for September 2004. Each student received a plaque while there were announced.

Description:
Mr. Tony Lara announced that Maria I Munguia, Nurse, was the citizen of the month for September. Ms. Munguia was in the hospital and was not able to make the meeting. He also mentioned that Ms. Cervantes and student Savannah Rhodes was also in the hospital due to an injury she sustained at home.

6. Accountibility Rating for SY 2004
Description:
Mr. Lara gave the board some information on the ratings for School Year 2004. He also mentioned to them that San Perlita ISD was the only school in Willacy County that received a "Recognized" rating.

7. Consideration and Approval for Teacher Appraisal Calendar
Description:
Maggi Sepulveda made a motion to approve the Teacher Appraisal Calendar for 2004-2005 school year. Nora Vasquez seconded the motion. Motion carried.

9. After School Programs
Description:
Mr. Lara mentioned to the board the school currently had mandatory turtoring program for students who are having difficulties in their core classes. They are also in the process of setting up the after shcool homeowork assistance program.
