3. Public Hearing on Italy ISD Schools Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) Accountability Rating for 2016-2017

3.A. The Texas Educatio Agency developed the Schools FIRST (Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas) accountability system for the Texas school districts in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999.  The primary goal of Schools FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts' financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas' school finance system.

3.B. Italy ISD's rating for 2016-2017, based on 2015-2016 financial data.
Italy ISD received a Superior Achievement rating with a score of 92 our of 100 possible points. Superior Achievement is the highest rating.
