4. Opportunity for Audience
Description:
Any citizen who would like to address the Board will be able to do so as the item on the regular agenda. Comments will be limited to 2 minutes per subject. If further time is needed, concerns should be addressed to the Superintendent. Personnel matters will not be discussed in a public meeting. Items that appear under the heading Routine and Regular Business will not be discussed or comments taken unless it is requested that they be removed from that category and placed on the regular agenda. Action on Routine and Regular Business will be acted upon with one motion and one vote. |
5. REPORTS/RECOGNITIONS 1) Mosaic 2) Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
1) Mosaic - Arianna Pauliette and Paul Gil presented the District with a check for $50 thousand dollars for the High School Science Department.
2) Dr. Washburn - Safety update - Fighting and Drugs on campus! The drug canine has been on campus several times and will be recurring. Teen Court hopes to be up and running and will work diligently with them to up with the fighting and drugs on campus. Working on vape senors and they are being set up (wireless) are available. Several cameras on the high school campus need to be updated and/or replaced and also address the blind spots. Attendance data is being reviewed. It seems to be improving in a 30 day snap shot. Overall, the trend is still moving up for students not attending. Home visits are occurring and all the schools are focusing on improving attendance. Update, every month a list of hires and resignations. We have just a few vacancies available. We are doing much better than this time last year. RFP for Performing Arts Center on the Agenda. We have continued to enjoy the tax benefits. Record highs are expected as far as drilling......review video. Electronic invite for Desert Willow and Boys & Girls Club on October 21. |
