Description:
Any citizen who would like to address the Board will be able to do so as the item on the regular agenda. Comments will be limited to 2 minutes per subject. If further time is needed, concerns should be addressed to the Superintendent. Personnel matters will not be discussed in a public meeting. Items that appear under the heading Routine and Regular Business will not be discussed or comments taken unless it is requested that they be removed from that category and placed on the regular agenda. Action on Routine and Regular Business will be acted upon with one motion and one vote. |

4.B. Approval of Vacant Land Purchase in Carlsbad, NM (ACTION)

Discussion:
Two years ago started looking for land around the Community. Focused on the South side of time. Merchant family owned property. Two pieces on Chapman Road. Would require annexing and taking utility to those areas. Lots of underground lines. Mr. Dunagan was asked to talk to owners of property on Boyd. Sell to the District as a donation? Maley family said that they would sell the property for 2.4 Million and half of it would be a donation and half would be cash. Chris Hamil at Valley Transportation. There ae two side roads that have been improved and a road on the backside. from his standpoint several ways are an option for pick up and drop off the students. Industrial - light industrial area and some residential to the North and East. Spoke to David about crusher that is used and it is watered down and the pecan orchards further down create more visibility issues than the Crusher.
We would make the offer subjected to appraisal. Acreage needed? 25 acres for one school and with two schools looking for 35 acres. This parcel is 40 acres, which gives us flexibility to address the enrollment issues that are coming. Land for rock? during inspection do some drilling to determine how much rock. |
