V. Professional Development

V.A. We recommend Victoria Pliego attend the WVEC (Wabash Valley Education Center) Understanding the Thinking of Adolescent Students on January 22, 2024, in Lafayette, IN, with expenses paid from the Title V Fund.

 

V.B. We recommend Victoria Pliego attend the WVEC (Wabash Valley Education Center) 2023-2024 EL TOR Network Meetings on December 7, 2023, in Lafeyette, IN, with expenses paid from the EL Fund.

 

V.C. We recommend Dr. Sharon Johnson and Cynthia Mose-Trevino attend the AASA (American Association of School Administrators) Nations Conference on Education on February 13–18, 2024 in San Diego, California with expenses paid from the Title IIA Fund.
 

V.D. We recommend Jodi Garcia, Shonette Watson, Sharnice Williams, Shelly Gates, Danielle Soucie attend the ISMHI (Indiana School Mental Health Initiative)  Indiana’s 6^th Annual Educating the Whole Child Summit on January 19, 2024, in Plainfield, IN with expenses paid from the Title IV fund.
 

V.E. We recommend Dr. Sharon Johnson Shirley, Kim Osteen, and Sam Roberts attend the ISBA (Indiana School Board Association) December School Law Seminar on December 8, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN. 46408 with expenses paid from the Title IIA fund and Operations fund.

VI. Leave/Resignation/Employment
All new employment to Lake Ridge New Tech Schools is contingent upon a cleared Expanded Criminal History Background Check within 30 days and a cleared Expanded Child Protection Index Check within 60 days of effective date.  IC 20-26-2-1.5 and IC 20-26-2-1.3

VI.A. We are recommending Robert Wilson be employed as the Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School Principal effective January 8, 2024.
 

VI.B. We are recommending Ashley Piunti be employed as an Instructional Aide at Longfellow New Tech Elementary School effective January 8, 2024.
 

VI.C. We recommend Doriante Bryant be employed as the Wrestling Junior Varsity Coach at Calumet New Tech High School for the 2023- 2024 Athletic Season.
 

VI.D. We recommend James Lewis be employed as the Wrestling Junior Varsity Coach at Calumet New Tech High School for the 2023- 2024 Athletic Season.
 

VI.E. We recommend Jennifer Donsbach be employed as the Academic Interventionist at Longfellow New Tech Elementary School effective December 11, 2023.
 

VI.F. We are recommending DeVonte Single be employed as the 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball Head Coach at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School for the 2023- 2024 Athletic Season.
 

VI.G. We recommend Rojue Curtis be employed 7^th Grade Girls’ Basketball Head Coach at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School for the 2023- 2024 Athletic Season.
 

VI.H. We recommend Erin Bernat be employed as the Behavior Interventionist at Calumet New Tech High School effective December 18, 2023.

 

VI.I. Recommend approval of the Leaves/Resignations/Employment items.

VII.A. We recommend approving the following fundraisers at Calumet New Tech High School:

• December 12, 2023 – 50/50 ticket sales for the Swim account.
• December 18, 2023 to December 22, 2023 – Double Good popcorn sales for the Class of 2027 account.
• December 19, 2023 -  Bake sale for the Swim account.
• January 2, 2024, Bake Sale for the Swim account.
• January 11, 2024 – Bake sale for the Swim account.
• January 24, 2024 – Bake Sale for the Swim account.
• January 30, 2024 – February 6, 2024, Double Good popcorn sales for the Prom account.
• January 8, 2024 – Coffee Shop sales for the Girls’ Basketball account.

VII.B. We recommend approving the following donations at Calumet New Tech High School:

• November 26, 2023 – The following items were donated by Donors Choice to the swim team.

- 40 Speedo Unisex – adult swim mirrored goggles
- 3 Whatafit resistance loop bands
- 5 school specialty adult floating swim fins.

 

VII.C. We recommend approving the Visual and Performance Arts Program at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School with Donald Thompson as the sponsor.

VII.D. We recommend approving and paying the attached stipend for summer Indiana Cadre Training PD for Diane Anderson.
 

VII.E. We recommend approving the permission to the Business Manager to conduct end of year transactions for the 2023 school year.

 

VII.F. We are recommending approving the cancellation of the December 25, 2023 board meeting due to schedule conflicts.
 

VII.G. We recommend approving the following donations made to the Lake Ridge Head Start Program:
 

• $100 check donation made by the Ridge Model Rail Roader group

VII.H. We recommend approving the following fundraisers at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School:

• December 11, 2023 to January 2, 2024 – Domino’s Pizza discount cards sales for the Boy’s Basketball account.

VII.I. We recommend approving the following donations at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School:

• • Bulls tickets to the December 6th Game. Donation of 65 tickets made my Cliff and Valorie Levingston.

VII.J. We recommend approving the attached list of non-resident student transfers.
 

VII.K. We are recommending the ratified January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025 Clerical Contract.

 

VII.L.

1. We recommend approving the new salaries of Aaron Carter, Assistant Principal at Calumet New Tech High School, and the salary of Rachel Niemann, Literacy Coach at Calumet New Tech High school.

VII.M. Recommend approval of the new business items.
