Description:
A consent agenda groups the routine, procedural, informational and self-explanatory noncontroversial items typically found in an agenda. These items are presented to the board in a single motion for an up or down vote after allowing anyone to request that a specific item be moved to the full agenda for individual attention. Items not removed may be adopted by general consent without debate. Removed items may be taken up either immediately after the consent agenda or placed later on the agenda at the discretion of the assembly.

9.G. Staff Development Waiver
Description:
The Texas Education Agency has made the staff development waiver available to districts. Staff development that focuses on new learning for teachers counts as instructional minutes.
HPISD administration recommends approving the waiver. |
9.H. Depository Contract Extension
Description:
In accordance with Texas Education Code Chapter 45, Subchapter G, the District and the Depository bank may agree to extend a depository contract for three additional two-year terms. The extension does not require the District to solicit bids or proposals. (Reference: TEC, §45.205, and §45.206). The contract covers the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2025.
HPISD adminstration recommends approval of the Depository Contract for Funds.

9.I. Update Broker-Dealer List
Description:
The attached list of broker dealers authorized to sell investment securities to the District is reviewed annually as required by the Public Funds Investment Act and by Board Policy CDA(LEGAL). These entities will be authorized to sell investment securities to the District.
HPISD administration recommends approving the list.

9.J. Approve Investment Policy
Description:
Board Policy CDA(LOCAL) "Other Revenue: Investments" requires an annual review of CDA(LOCAL) as part of the Public Funds Investment Act requirements. After review, there are no recommended changes to the policy. While there are no changes to the policy, this report item will serve as documentation to the external audit firm that the requirement of annual review has occurred per CDA(LEGAL).
HPISD administration recommends approval of the review of Board Policy CDA(LOCAL).
