4. School Closure
Description:
On November 18, the Michigan DHHS suspended in-person learning for grades 9-12. The district expanded this to include K-8, and all students have been in remote learning since then. This order is set to expire on December 8. Update: On December 7, the order was extended through December 20.
On December 4, district parents were notified that with the community spread of COVID-19 and staffing factors at our school buildings, the administration made the decision to continue suspending in-person learning for all students K-12, and continue with our remote learning plan. It is our intention to resume in-person learning on January 4th (after the Christmas break). RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of the superintendent and the administration team to continue remote learning and in-person closure until after Christmas Break, with a return date of January 4, 2021.
