2. Program Highlight - Mental Health and Social Emotional Learning
Description:
The Mental Health/Social Emotional team is part of the Admin & Instructional Services Division. The Mental Health/SEL team is composed of two school counseling consultants, one that primarily focuses on elementary school and one that focuses primarily on middle and high school. In addition to the two counselors we also have a Mental Health Educational Liaison that is employed by Center for Health Care Services, but has a workspace here at ESC 20 and works with the Mental Health and Social Emotional Learning team. The mission of this team is to provide support, training, and technical support to school counselors, social workers, and any other mental health professionals on campuses. This team works collaboratively with the Texas Education Agency to provide updates and information related to Texas Education and Administrative Code as well as legislative updates regarding mental health, social emotional learning, and school counseling.

10. Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Cooperative Purchasing Program Participation
Description:
Board approval is requested for Education Service Center, Region 20 to participate in the purchasing programs of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Cooperative Purchasing Program at an annual fee of $100. Participation provides the Center with another resource to comply with the competitive bid laws and assure that the Center receives the lowest price for items requiring the bid process. With Board approval the Executive Director is authorized to execute appropriate documents to implement participation.

11. Purchasing Cooperative Programs Participation
Description:
Board approval is requested for ESC-20 to utilize Federal, State and other Cooperative purchasing programs that are legally available for the Centers' use. Participation provides the Center with resources to comply with the competitive bid laws and assures that the Center receives the best value pricing for items requiring the bid process. With Board approval, the Executive Director is authorized to execute appropriate documents to implement participation.
Including: Federal GSA contracts; State of Texas, TXMAS program.

Description:
State law requires that the Board review its investment policy and investment strategies not less than annually and adopt a written resolution stating that it has reviewed the investment policy and investment strategies and that written instrument so adopted shall record any changes made to either the investment policy or investment strategies.

Description:
According to Policy BEC (Legal), The Board is not required to conduct an
open meeting to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee or to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee. However, the Board may not conduct a closed meeting for these purposes if the officer or employee who is the subject of the deliberation or hearing requests a public hearing. Gov’t Code 551.074. |
