2. Amarillo ISD Team of Eight Training (19 T.A.C. § 61.1):

The Board and Superintendent (“Team of Eight”) will engage in a team-building session (as required by law) focused on enhancing the effectiveness of the Board-Superintendent team, and assessing the Board’s continuing education needs. The training will include a review of the roles, rights, and responsibilities of the Board, as outlined in the framework for governance leadership, and an overview of school funding basics. The Team of Eight will also address: District vision, goals and priorities (including Board Policy AE(LOCAL)); systems and processes (including BE(LOCAL) and Board Operating Procedures); programs and accountability; advocacy and engagement; and synergy and teamwork.
