7.h) Approval of transcript grading during COVID 19 Distance Learning for the 2019-20 SY Guidelines, as described below.
Description:
Through the lens of equity, integrity, and grace, we propose that all students earn an academic grade A through D as a final semester grade.
Teachers will average Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 grades. Students that don’t have a passing percentage at the end of the semester will receive a D- so they earn credit. Given that the quarter ended abruptly, students should be encouraged and allowed to continue to work on Quarter 3 work through mid-quarter 4. Students who are taking college in the schools courses should work with their teachers and counselors to determine steps if they are earning lower than a C. The district will review student concerns regarding grades and determine if a grade override is necessary on a case by case basis. |
