IV. Presentations/Recognitions
Description:
(The Board of Education periodically hears presentations from students, District 33 departments and programs, and outside groups in order to keep the Board informed of District operations and opportunities. There are no presentations scheduled for this board meeting.)

V. Public Comment
Description:
(Public comments (limited to 3 minutes each) are welcome at this Board of Education meeting. In order to conduct productive meetings, there will be no dialogue with the public about topics during this meeting. The Board may make a brief response to a public comment, or will provide for follow-up with individuals or groups at a later date, if the Board determines that issues require additional research. For certain issues that require additional understanding the Board may also schedule a special meeting where public dialogue can occur. VII. Consent Agenda *
Description:

IX.B. Approve resolution abating a portion of the tax heretofore levied for the year 2011 to pay debt service on
Description:
$31,500,000 Taxable General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2010, of School District Number 33, DuPage County, Illinois
(The District sold Build America Bonds as part of the bond sale to expand West Chicago Middle School. These bonds have a reimbursement from the U.S. Government to cover a third of the interest cost. This resolution authorizes the County Clerk to abate (not collect) over $640,000 in property tax as a result of the federal reimbursement.)

Description:
(The West Chicago Park District is going for referendum to build a recreation center to serve the entire Park District population. The District 33 Board of Education will be asked to adopt a resolution of support for this referendum.)

At this time the District and the teachers' association agree that District 33 is exempt from developing a reduction in force sequence of honorable dismissal that would be used in spring of 2012. This new requirement will be developed for potential use by the spring of 2013.)
