Discussion/Action - Consent Agenda

Request approval to accept the irrevocable notice of retirement from Ms. Susana Cortes-Troche from the position of Guidance Department Secretary effective December 3, 2018.

Request retroactive approval to hire Mr. Tim Broniewicz for the Substitute Teacher position effective December 12, 2018.  Mr. Broniewicz has successfully completed all pre-employment requirements and will be paid $22.00 per hour per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire Mr. Jake Koulouris as a Substitute IT Technician pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements. Mr. Koulouris will cover the FMLA leave request of Mr. Esteban Carillo until February 2019 and will be paid $20.00 per hour with no benefits.

Request approval to hire Mr. Jeremy Kenny for the position of Assistant Girls Track Coach for the 2018-19 school year pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements.  This hire is due to the resignation of the previous coach, Mr. Ryan Leroux.  Mr. Kenny will be paid $9,460 for the spring season (16% of BA Step 1 (59,125), Year 3) per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request approval to hire the following instructors for the SAT Prep Program for the 2018-19 school year pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements These teachers will be preparing students for the SAT College Entrance Exam.  They will work on an as-needed basis with varied hours, approximately ten (10) afternoons and ten (10) evenings.  The instructors will be paid $37.10 per hour based on the Collectively Bargained Agreement. The recommended instructors are Tatiana Barakat, Kori Bowns, Grace Drobny, Jon Leonard, Lindsay Murray, Cara Prochaska, Eric Schumacher, Melissa Segura, Teresa Skupien, Katie Smith and Erin Walsh.

Request approval to retroactively hire (as of September 17, 2018) Mr. Luis Valdovinos as a pro-tech employee teaching the Adult ESL classes at Argo for the community.  The yearly cost of the program is $12,000, which is split with District 104; Argo - $6,000, District 104 - $6,000. This program is funded by the Title I Grant. A check is requested for Semester 1 in the amount of $3,000 payable to Mr. Luis Valdovinos.

The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity.

The purpose of the discussion of minutes of prior meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, for the purpose of review, approval or release of such minutes.

Pending or probable litigation against, affecting or on behalf of the public body.

Discussion/Action - Request approval to release or remain closed the Closed Session Minutes from July 2017 through June 2018:

August 14, September 11, October 11, November 13 and December 2017.  There were no closed session minutes in July.

January 13, January 22, February 21, March 19, April 16, May 21 and June 18, 2018.

Discussion/Action - Request approval to dispose of the following Closed Session recording(s) in accordance with the Verbatim Record Bill, Public Act 93-523, effective January 1, 2004:
