Request approval to accept the request for English Language Learners (ELL) Teacher, Mrs. Sana Khalil to take an unpaid leave of absence for the 2018-2019 school year, returning, health permitting in August 2019 for the 2019-2020 school year.

Request approval to accept the request to hire Ms. Elsa Contreras for the 3rd Shift Custodian position effective immediately. Ms. Contreras has successfully completed all of the pre-employment requirements and will be required to work a standard sixty-day probationary period. The hourly rate of pay will be $16.55, which includes a third shift differential adjustment of $0.55 per hour per the Collectively Bargained Agreement.

Request retroactive approval (as of January 3, 2018) to hire Mr. Gary Lyczak for the Skilled Maintenance position. Mr. Lyczak will fill the vacancy created with the promotion of Mr. Croeger to Interim Director of Buildings and Grounds. Mr. Lyczak has successfully completed the pre-employment requirements and will be required to work a standard sixty-day probationary period. The rate of pay will be $30.00 per hour and subject to a signed M.O.U. (Memo of Understanding) with Argo and the S.E.I.U.

Request approval to hire the following as instructors for the College Entrance Exam Program for the 2017-18 school year. The teachers will work on an as-needed basis providing assistance to students with pre-testing, post-testing, and instruction. They will be paid $36.34 per hour per the Collectively Bargained Agreement:

Request approval (pending the sectional outcome) for the Argo Chess Team to participate in the IHSA Chess State Finals in Peoria, IL on February 9-10, 2018. Participants are both male and female, thus a female chaperone will be needed. The team will stay at the AmericInn Lodge and Suites for two (2) nights and transportation will be provided by the Argo school bus. The approximate cost of this tournament to the district is $2,468.00.

Request approval for Choral Director, Mrs. Nicole Durkin to accompany student, Sal Macias to participate in the Illinois Music Education Conference (IMEC) in Peoria, IL on January 24-27, 2018. Their participation will require an overnight stay at the Mark Twain in Peoria and Sal Macias will be sharing a room with a student from Elmwood Park H.S. The approximate cost (which includes hotel, meals and transportation) to the district is $1,450.98.

Request approval for the Bedford Park District to use the Field House/Swanson Gym on Saturday's from February 11 to April 7, 2018, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The recommendation is no charge to the organization pending a roster of participants verifying 75% residency prior to use. The organization will need to provide a current certificate of insurance prior to use of the facilities.

Request approval for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) to use the Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Our recommendation will be no rental fee but to charge the organization for maintenance, security and AV-IT. A current certificate of insurance will be required prior to use of the facility.

Request approval for the Summit Rebels to use the Frank Stout Field House (C and S courts) on March 21, 28 and April 4 & 11, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.The recommendation is no charge to the group for use of the facilities pending a roster of participants verifying 75% residency prior to use.
