5.1. Consideration to Adopt Resolution Declaring Columbus Day, October 10, 2016, a Non-Legal Holiday in the Le Sueur-Henderson School District
Description:
This action is required for the Board to conduct business on Columbus Day. On the proposed 2016 calendar, we do have a School Board meeting scheduled on Columbus Day this year. Approval is recommended.

5.2. Consideration to Set Dates, Times and Locations for Regular School Board Meetings for 2016
Description:
Approval of the 2016 School Board Meetings and Conferences Schedule is recommended. Highlights of the calendar include:
In keeping with past practice, we have adjusted the starting times of Board meetings on the dates we anticipate a concert. Previous discussion may suggest NOT adjusting these times. School Administration will be working to adjust conflict when possible but can not guarantee this at this time. The 2016 calendar has four (4) Regular Board meetings scheduled at Hilltop Elementary School.

5.3. Consideration to Approve Authorization of Facsimile Signatures
Description:
This authorization allows facsimile signatures of the board chair, clerk, and treasurer on all checks as well as graduation diplomas that we issue for 2016. Any new officers will need to sign new cards. Approval is recommended.

5.4. Consideration to Approve Appointment of School District Legal Counsel
Description:
Administration recommends continuation of our relationship with the Anderson, Skubitz & Coryell, PLLC Law firm as well as the firms of Ratwick, Rosack, & Maloney and Kennedy & Graven when a conflict of interest becomes an issue or when a second legal opinion is needed.

5.5. Consideration to Approve Designation of Official Newspaper
Description:
Past practice is to designate one newspaper as our official newspaper. To support both of our local newspapers, we alternate designation each year. For 2016, the Le Sueur News Herald is recommended as the official newspaper for the District.

5.6. Consideration to Establish 2016 School Board Members' Compensation
Description:
Administration recommends Board member compensation rates remain unchanged for 2016.

5.7. Consideration to Approve Employee Reimbursed Meal Allowance Rates
Description:
The recommended 2016 meal reimbursement amounts are: $10.00 - Breakfast, $15.00 - Lunch, $25.00 - Dinner.

5.8. Consideration to Approve Reimbursable Meal Allowance Rate for Participating Students and Coaches/Advisors for Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) State Tournaments
Description:
The proposed rates are $5.00 for breakfast, $10.00 for lunch, and $15.00 for dinner with a $30.00 per day limit.

5.9. Consideration to Approve Mileage Rate
Description:
Administration recommends adjusting the mileage reimbursement for applicable employees (per master agreements) be set at $0.54/mile, down from $0.575/mile. This adjustment is based on the standard mileage rate established by the IRS.

5.10. Consideration to Approve Authorizing Superintendent have Final Approval of all Purchase Orders Processed
Description:
This is continued practice in coordination with the Accounts Payable Clerk and District Business Manager.

5.11. Appointment of Board Committee Members and Representatives
Description:
Board committee and representative assignments will be discussed and determined at the meeting.
