Description:
The MCEME, through the coordination of Minnesota State University - Mankato, will be working with our Hilltop teaching staff to write the Engineering portion of our STEM curriculum in June. Christine Fischer will be sharing more information about this exciting opportunity.

9.1. 2013-14 Budget Presentation and Discussion

Description:
Pat Goggin will be sharing an overview, explanation and update of budgeting process and the point at which we are at. He will also be laying out the steps that need to be completed prior to approving a budget in June.

9.2. Consideration to Approve Making Up One of the Three Weather Related School Closing Days on Friday, May 31, 2013 and Rescheduling the Teacher Workday to Monday, June 3, 2013

Description:
The cancellation of school due to weather on April 19th marked the third day we have closed this year. This is in addition to five (5) late starts and two (2) early dismissals due to weather. According to our contract with the LSHEA, we will not make up the first two (2) days we close. Also, according to the contract, any made up days must be made up as student days not teacher work or inservice days.
Based on these parameters, I am recommending we adjust the 2012-2013 school calendar to make Friday, May 31st a student day, and Monday, June 3rd the Teacher Work Day. |

10. Consideration to Hold a Closed Meeting to Consider Strategy for Labor Negotiations conducted pursuant to Minnesota Statute Sections 179A.01 to 179A.25
Description:
A part of our budget discussion will be employee compensation and what the district can afford. I am recommending the Board move to Closed Session for these discussions.
