1. Call To Order
This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated on the agenda. |

3. Citizens' Comments
This portion of the agenda is for citizens to address any questions or comments to the Board. The Board will listen, take comments and questions under advisement, and not respond at this time. The presiding officer will refer questions to the superintendent for research and response. When called on by the Board President, the citizen may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes during the citizen comment period. Citizen comment timeframe is limited to 30 minutes. |

7. Adoption of the Consent Agenda
Items on the Consent Agenda are to be voted on as a single item by the Board. Board members may remove items from the Consent Agenda prior to the vote. Discussion of the items that have been removed will be added to the Action/Discussion Items listed on the agenda. A motion is needed to approve the items on the Consent Agenda. A roll call vote is required.

7.B. Board Policy Updates - Second Reading
Description:
Administration is recommending updates to board policy #2264-Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities, #1240- Evaluation of the Superintendent, #2266-Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities and #6520- Payroll Deductions. Copies of board policies were provided in the 7/8/2024 board packets. This will be the second reading of the policies. This motion will put the policies into effect. Dr. Applegate will answer questions.

7.C. Modes of Instructional Delivery - Reconfirmation
Description:
Each month, at a meeting of the board, administration will reconfirm how instruction is going to be delivered during the 2024-25 school year. The district's approved plan states that Niles Community Schools may offer both in-person and virtual modes of instruction and employed mitigation strategies for the health and safety of our learning environments.

Description:
- Niles High School received a donation of $24,000 from First Source Foundation in support of their College and Careers center. A thank-you letter was provided in board packets.The donation exceeds the $2,000 limit set by the board and requires board acceptance. Administration is recommending that the Board accept the donation.

Description:
Administration is recommending that the administrative contract for Natonya Gathright, NHS Assistant Principal, be approved. Her contract period commences on August 1, 2024 and ends on July 31, 2025.

8.G. Board Policy - Rescind
Description:
Administration is recommending that the board rescind policy #2410 -PROHIBITION OF REFERRAL OR ASSISTANCE. The legislature repealed the portions of the School Aid Act that require adherence with the policy. Based on the repeal of these sections of the ACT, we are rescinding PO 2410 as its sole purpose was to ensure compliance with the now-repealed sections.
