This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated on the agenda. |

This portion of the agenda is for citizens to address any questions or comments to the Board. The Board will listen, take comments and questions under advisement, and not respond at this time. The presiding officer will refer questions to the superintendent for research and response. When called on by the Board President, the citizen may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes during the citizen comment period. Citizen comment timeframe is limited to 30 minutes. |

7.B. Board Policy Updates - Second Reading
Description:
Administration is recommending updates to board policy #6350-Prevailing Wage. A copy of the board policy was provided in board packets. This will be the second reading of the policy. The policy will go into effect upon approval of the second reading. Dr. Applegate will answer questions.

7.D. Modes of Instructional Delivery - Reconfirmation
Description:
Each month, at a meeting of the board, administration will reconfirm how instruction is going to be delivered during the 2023-24 school year. The district's approved plan states that Niles Community Schools may offer both in-person and virtual modes of instruction and employed mitigation strategies for the health and safety of our learning environments.

8.A. 2024-25 BRESA General Fund Operating Budget Resolution
Description:
Berrien RESA is requesting that the Board adopt the 2024-25 BRESA general fund operating budget by expressing their support for or disapproval of the proposed intermediate school district budget, and shall submit to the intermediate school board any specific objections and proposed changes the constituent district has to the budget.

Description:

8.K. New Administrator Contract
Description:
Administration is recommending that the administrative contracts for Steven O'Connor, Director of Facilities and Operations, be approved. There are two contracts needing approval. The first contract covers May 20, 2024- June 30, 2024 (Fiscal year ends June 30). The second contract is a full year contract that begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2025.
