5.B. Acceptance of Letter of Recommendation regarding Braun GMP Contract Amendment
Description:
The Bond Team is very pleased to submit this Letter of Recommendation to you for an amendment to Braun’s contract to establish the Program’s Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for our 2021 Bond Program. The attached letter will further describe the Amendment covered in the recommendation along with costs, fees and other pertinent information.
Unlike previous recommendation letters requesting new contracts for services, this recommendation is to amend an existing contract with Braun, our Construction Manager. This amendment will do two critical functions. First, it will provide for fees and costs to be paid to Braun for the execution of the Construction Administration phase based on a percentage of the actual Cost of Work (hard costs). Previously those values were estimated based on an estimated hard cost. However, now that public bidding has completed we now have a final hard cost thus we can revised the estimates with fixed, known costs. The second critical function will be to allow Braun to sign contracts with construction subcontractors to lock in prices, establish schedules and most importantly, order long lead time materials. |
