Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) 34th Annual National Leadership Forum: Kim Thalison, Director of School Wellness & Prevention Services, is requesting Board approval for her and two prevention specialists to attend CADCA’s 34th Annual National Leadership Forum in National Harbor, Maryland, from January 28 - February 1, 2024. The conference will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about national trends and best practices for prevention practices. Costs are covered by grant funds and a scholarship through Mid-State Health Network.

I.E.4) Oneida Township School District #3 Dissolution: In compliance with Section 12 of the Michigan Revised School Code and recognizing the Oneida Township School District #3’s inability to meet the statutory requirement of filling all three board seats, the Superintendent is requesting the Eaton RESA Board of Education to consider the dissolution of the district and the subsequent transfer of its territories and property to Potterville Public Schools. It is anticipated that Potterville will assume responsibility for the school and associated educational services henceforth.

I.E.5) Grand Ledge Public Schools (GLPS) Subcontract: Kim Thalison, Director of School Wellness & Prevention Services, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute a subcontract agreement with GLPS in an amount not to exceed $170,000. The subcontract provides infrastructure and construction expenses related to the school-based health clinic located at Grand Ledge High School (GLHS). Costs related to the subcontract will be paid for using Michigan Department of Health and Human Services implementation and infrastructure grant funds. The agreement is from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

I.E.6) 2023-24 Contracted Occupational Therapy Services: Kelly Hager, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute an agreement with CompHealth Medical Staffing in an amount not to exceed $51,504 to provide contracted occupational therapy services for a staff maternity leave of absence. The agreement is from January 22, 2024, through May 10, 2024.

I.F. Information Items

I.F.1) Capital Projects Plan: Tina Monroe, Executive Director of Finance & Operations, will share updates to the 10-year capital projects plan, along with identified projects for 2023-24 and 2024-25. The plan was developed as a tool to address building improvement needs and provide a schedule so that upgrades are completed in a timely manner. The plan also assists in the financial planning of how projects are to be funded.

I.F.2) Superintendent Self-Assessment and Evidence: As the initial component of the Board’s process for conducting an annual performance evaluation of the District’s Superintendent, Sean Williams will provide the Board with his self-assessment, a summary of accomplishments/evidence and student growth data.
