IX. Public Comment: This is the opportunity to address the Board. Speakers are to confine their remarks to five minutes. If a speaker requires more than fiveminutes, after all other persons who have requested to speak during this part of the meeting have spoken, that speaker will be allowed additional time. The Superintendent or other district staff may comment to clear up or avoid significant misunderstandings.

X.A. Tuition Rates 2016-17
Motion: The Board of Education approve the 2016-17 tuition rates as presented. |
X.B. Summer Tax Levy 2017
Motion: The Board of Education adopt the resolution, as presented, to impose a summer tax levy to collect all (100%) of school property taxes. |
X.C. Mental Health Advisory Committee
Motion: The Board of Education form a mental health advisory committee comprised of mental health professionals, school district employees, parents, and students for the purpose of being a resource to the East Lansing School Board and School District concerning programming that supports students' social-emotional well being and school connectedness. The committee will review district programming that addresses students' social-emotional well being. The committee may provide professional advice on or concerning additional programming to address students' social-emotional well being. It may also address other issues pertinent to students' mental health, including preventative mental health programming. The committee may also be asked to vet programming being considered for use in the district that may impact students' mental health. The committee will consist of no more than 20 members, a majority of whom should be mental health professionals. The committee membership should attempt to be inclusive of elementary school, middle school, and high school parents (who may also be mental health professionals). The committee membership will also include the middle school and high school principals and counselors/social workers from the secondary level, as well as an elementary social worker and at least one elementary principal. The committee membership will also include Kris Chapman and two students from East Lansing High School. |
