Description:  This meeting was noticed by way of publication in the Waterford Post on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, was posted at the District Office (Door #7) and at Entrance #19, and was published on the District's website. The meeting was also posted at the following municipal locations: Town of Norway, Town of Waterford, Village of Raymond, Village of Rochester, and Village of Waterford.

Description:  I move to reconsider the motion made on October 29 to pursue the referendum project Option C, without the new expansion of the Technical Education/Engineering area.

Description:  There are no staffing changes to report at this time.

Description:  The project to prep and replace the carpet in the PAC was competitively bid with the work awarded to Adair Commercial Flooring in New Berlin.

Description:  The Lynch automotive group is donating a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 246,500 miles to our automotive technology classes. The vehicle will be presented to Ryan Ladd-Winders and students on December 3, and is valued at $6,000.

Description:  The Student Council Sergeant at Arms will provide an update on the recent activities of various student co-curricular clubs. 

Description:  Associate Principal Mark Peperkorn will speak about the new electronic student pass system implemented at the start of the school year.

Description:  Dr. Francois and Principal Foster will give a brief overview of the 2023-24 state report card for Waterford Union, which was recently released by the Department of Public Instruction.

Description: 

Board Member Datka has requested a discussion regarding the current policy for adding items to board meeting agendas. The current policy language allows individual board members to include agenda items upon receiving concurrence from the Board President. This agenda item seeks to:

1. Review the existing agenda item addition protocol
2. Discuss potential modifications to the current policy
3. Clarify the process and requirements for board members proposing agenda items

Recommended Action: Board discussion and potential policy refinement to ensure transparent and efficient agenda management.

Description:  The WUHS Board will have two seats open for the April 1, 2025 Spring Election, which are currently held by Kelly Datka and Mike Schoenfeld. Notice of the annual school board election was published as a Type A notice in the Waterford Post on Thursday, November 21, 2024. The candidate deadline for filing all ballot access documents is no later than 5:00 PM on January 7, 2025, at the District Office. If a primary is necessary, the primary election will be held February 18, 2025. 

Description:  Three new courses are proposed for the 2025-26 course offerings. The Math Department has proposed Advanced Placement Computer Science A, which corresponds to the first computer science major-specific course at most universities and is already being offered in 2024-25 as an independent study class. The Music Department surveyed students, who expressed interest in learning to play acoustic guitar. Beginning Acoustic Guitar will be offered as an elective class at all grade levels. Lastly, the ACT Strategies course will be an elective offered to juniors in the fall of their junior year. 

Description:  The most recent policy updates were presented for the Board's review at the Oct.7 meeting. The Board is asked to take action on the attached list of policies. The description of the two pulled policies below provides a summary of feedback requested on two specific policies.
