|
F.1.a. District administration recommends approval of an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) with the Arizona Department of Education for the Arts Consumable Grant. This IGA would enable the District to pursue up to $1000 in supply budget for each teacher of the arts.

G.1. Recommend Approval to Table US History Textbook
|
G.1.a. District administration recommends approval to table the textbook and curriculum resource entitled National Geographic US History: America Through the Lens to allow for public review and comment prior to a formal request to adopt the textbook for use in our high school US History courses.

G.2. Recommend Approval of Creative Writing Course Proposal
|
G.2.a. District administration recommends approval to establish a new Creative Writing elective course at Flowing Wells High School, to be offered beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. The course proposal is attached for review.

G.3. Recommend Approval of Proposals for Two Courses within the Translation and Interpretation Pathway: Medical Spanish and English Interpreting, and Introduction to Legal Spanish/English Interpretation
|
G.3.a. District administration recommends approval to establish two new courses that would become components of the Translation and Interpretation college and career pathway that was launched this year at Flowing Wells High School: Medical Spanish and English Interpreting, and Introduction to Legal Spanish/English Interpretation. These two courses would be offered beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. The course proposals are attached for review.

G.4. Recommend Approval of Stipends for Teacher Apprentices and Apprentice Mentors for Participation in Flowing Wells Teacher Apprenticeship Program
|
G.4.a. District administration recommends approval of a series of stipends associated with a newly developed Teacher Apprenticeship Program in collaboration with the University of Phoenix and Pima County. The apprenticeship program would be available to current FW employees and would provide a tuition-free three-year pathway to earn a bachelor's degree and teacher certification, with the goal of being placed as a fully certified teacher in a FW elementary school classroom. Stipends for both the apprentice and the mentor would increase in amount over the duration of the program as apprentice responsibilities grow more complex.
