2. Land Acknowledgement
Description:
Truth and acknowledgment are critical to building mutual respect and connection across differences. Please take a moment to consider the many legacies of violence, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us together here today. The Parkrose Board of Education begins this effort by acknowledging that we are gathering on the ancestral and unceded lands of the Chinook, Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Cowlitz, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River in the Portland area. We pay respect to their elders past and present. We acknowledge them as the past, current and future caretakers of this land.

May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, and our school district is committed to promoting mental wellness and destigmatizing conversations about mental health. We encourage everyone to take time to prioritize their mental health, whether it's through self-care practices, reaching out for support, or simply being mindful of each other's well-being. Let's work together to create an environment where mental health is valued and supported year-round.

6.B. School Nurse Appreciation Day
Description:
On May 8th, we celebrated School Nurse Appreciation Day! Our school nurses go above and beyond to provide compassionate care, support, and guidance to our students. Whether it was administering first aid, promoting wellness initiatives, or offering a listening ear, their tireless efforts contributed to the well-being of our students and staff.
