Description:
A consent agenda is a practice by which regular and non-controversial board action items are organized apart from the rest of the agenda and approved as a group. This includes all of the business items that require formal board approval and yet because they are not controversial, there is no need for board discussion before taking a vote. Items may be on the consent agenda only if all board members agree. Any board member, for any reason, may remove a consent agenda item and place it on the regular agenda for the board meeting.

16.1. Property Insurance Review
Description:
Susan Erickson from Petersburg/Wrangell insurance will provide an update regarding insurance trends and be available to answer questions.

16.2. FY '20 Budget Revision
Description:
Director of Finance Karen Morrison will provide a power point presentation of the FY'20 budget revision and be available to answer questions.

16.3. Staff Evaluation Process Review
Description:
On the board master calendar in January is review staff evaluation process. Superintendent Kludt-Painter will provide information regarding the state required staff evaluation process.

16.4. 2020-'21 School Calendar
Description:
Seeking board feedback regarding development of '20-'21 school calendar.

16.5. Math Curriculum Adoption and Approval of Materials
Description:
The curriculum steering committee has presented the math curriculum to the board in a work session on Jan. 9, 2020. A complete copy of the math curriculum is available for review at the Petersburg Schools District Office. Individual curriculum documents are attached below.
Recommended Motion: Approve the recommended math curriculum and purchase of materials in the estimated amount of $42,000.00 (roll call vote) |
16.6. Association of Alaska School Boards (AASB) February 2020 Fly-In
Description:
Superintendent Kludt-Painter, Board President Mara Lutomski and Board Vice President Sarah Holmgrain will attend the annual Legislative Fly-In on Feb. 8-11.

16.7. Certified Staff Resignation Acceptance
Description:
The board recognizes the resignation of Dan van Swearingen, certified teacher effective the end of the 2019-'20 school year, as accepted by the Superintendent on behalf of the Board per BP 4117.2 (Resignation).

16.8. Retirement Acceptance
Description:
Irene Littleton has submitted a letter of intent to retire. The board recognizes the resignation of Irene Littleton, Superintendent/Board Administrative Assistant effective June 30, 2020, as accepted by the Superintendent on behalf of the Board, per BP4117.2 (resignation).
