RECOGNITION/COMMMENDATION
A. Corri Nastasi, Principal at Webb Elementary, would like to thank the Webb PTA for all the work they put in over the summer and for the wonderful gifts that they presented to the staff at the beginning of the school year. Each classroom was given an electric pencil sharpener and each professional was given a wooden pencil sign that hangs outside of each door and helps to decorate the school. We appreciate all they do for our staff and students at Webb.
B. Linda McLatcher, Member of the Hazel park Class of '66 Reunion Committee, wanted to acknowledge and thank Dr. David Muylaert, Athletic Director, for allowing the 100 + classmates that attended the 50th year Class Reunion, to "stroll the halls" of Hazel Park High School and reminisce about the great times at HP High! Upon arriving at the school we were greeted by custodian, Rachel Keeton. Ms Keeton was very congenial and helpful throughout the couple of hours that we were there. She was welcoming and provided us with information as to changes in the school since we were students there 50 years ago. She was receptive to opening the gym, pool, locker rooms, classrooms, etc. upon our request. Oh how we all marveled at the memories of what it was like to compete in the gym, swimming pool and even the classrooms. We saw pictures honoring several classmates who still hold various athletic records still hanging on the walls. ALL of us were very impressed with the condition of the school. It was a great "stroll" down memory lane.
