During each regular and special open meeting of the Board, any person may comment to or ask questions of the School Board (public participation), subject to the reasonable constraints established and recorded in this policy’s guidelines below. The Board listens to comments or questions during public participation; responses to comments to or questions of the Board are most often managed through policy 3:30, Chain of Command. To preserve sufficient time for the Board to conduct its business, any person appearing before the Board is expected to follow these guidelines:

V. Approval of Consent Agenda
The Consent Agenda is a list of routine non-controversial items, which do not require further discussion and which are approved with one motion and one roll call vote. It is an effective procedure to handle routine matters on the agenda expeditiously. All consent items shall be listed with an asterisk(*) and will be enacted with one motion. However, any member of the Board of Education may request that an item be withdrawn from the Consent Agenda and discussed in its regular order.

VI.B. Board Goals and Meeting Organization Update
Description:
During the August 4 workshop, the Board reviewed the IASB Foundational Principles of Effective Governance and established a strategic framework to align future meeting agendas, deliberations, and decision-making directly with Board and District goals. This discussion will focus on this framework and identifying recurring processes to support continuous improvement. Discussion topics include: 26-27 committees, civic engagement, board communication, and reflection.

VIII.A. FY27 Tentative Budget Display
Description:
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of FY27 tentative budget display timeline and budget hearing date. BACKGROUND The tentative budget went on display on August 6, 2026; legal notice attached. The budget must remain on display for the public to inspect for 30 days, through September 6, 2026. The public budget hearing will take place on September 8, 2026. The District budget for 2026-2027 must be adopted before September 30th. It is my recommendation that the Board of Education approve the FY27 tentative budget and budget hearing date.
