VIII. Curriculum Pacing Update - Ms. Rae
Presenter:
Ms. Rae
Description:
Ms. Rae will update the Board of Education on the current curriculum pacing compared to past years. Erin has been tracking this information throughout this school year to assist our teaching staff with instructional decisions.
The impact of the pandemic on education has been significant. However, we continue to review data and make adjustments to address learning gaps. One of the most difficult things to control has been student engagement of students who elected the full remote learning option. |

The certificate (attached) will be submitted to the County Clerk’s Office. The county clerk will make the required adjustments based on the tax cap and exemptions. In April or May, we will receive certification of the final extension for 2020.

XII.C. Stipend for Streaming of Board Meetings
Description:
Mr. Kincaid has been attending and streaming the monthly D91 Board Meeting since July. This adds an additional 5 hours a month to his work schedule. Although Bryan has graciously given his time to set up and monitor the meetings for live streaming, I believe it is only right that the board consider establishing a monthly stipend rate for these services.
Currently we pay the $3,460 a year for the services of the board secretary. I believe the same amount is appropriate for setup and monitoring of the live streaming. |

XII.D. Winter Athletics
Description:
Last month the Board approved canceling winter athletics. In the cover letter, it listed boys and girls basketball. In hindsight, I should have included volleyball as well.
Currently, volleyball is classified as a moderate risk sport. This means that it must follow Level 1 & Level 2 types of play (no contact practices and intra-team scrimmages, but no competitive play). The Governor’s order states school-based athletics must comply with Executive Order 2020-73, which prohibits indoor group sports. We must let IESA know if the girls volleyball will be canceled by December 18th in order to receive half of our 2020-2021 fee to be applied to the 2021-2022 season. I do not expect significant changes in the current guidelines until at least the flu season has come to an end. |
