Description:
Andrea Swanberg, Activities Director at Tech High School, will present information regarding a MSHSL membership renewal requirement. As part of membership renewal, Schools Boards must view a Why We Play training video which defines the purpose of education-based athletics and activities and will assist in communicating a shared-common language as it relates to the value of these programs.
The Administration recommends approval of membership renewal in the Minnesota State High School League for 2017-2018. |

VI.I. Quarryview Education Center Change Orders Totaling -$6,478.00
Description:
The Administration recommends approval of the following change orders for the above named project.
- Change Order #2 with K. Johnson Construction, Inc. in the amount of +$160.00 to recess gymnasium floor for the wood flooring. - Change Order #3 with Mid Central Door Co. in the amount of +$1,919.00 to add door and frame as a result of State Plan Review. - Change Order #1 with Century Fence Company in the amount of +$17,920.00 to add fencing on the north property line. This is a result of earthen berm not being allowed over sewer or water service lines. - Change Order #3 with Klein Electric Inc. in the amount of +$1,256.00 for revisions to the electrical after State Plan Review. - Change Order #1 with Klein Landscaping and Nursery, Inc. in the amount of -$1,230.00 to change species and size of three different trees or shrubs because they are unavailable. - Change Order #3 with McDowall Company (HVAC) in the amount of -$26,503.00 to eliminate solar panels. This project is funded with Lease Levy Funds. These change orders are within the approved budget for this project. |

- Change Order #4 with Boser Construction, Inc. in the amount of -$14,045.00 to supply and install drinking fountain rails in lieu of masonry walls. This project is being funded with operating capital funds. |
VI.K. Apollo High School HVAC Infrastructure Upgrades Change Order Totaling +$163,210.38
Description:
The Administration recommends approval of the following change order for the above named project.
- Change Order #2 with Boser Construction, Inc. in the amount of +$163,210.38 for revisions to electrical service, electrical and plumbing modifications, penthouse A1 metal roof, metal deck flute infills for Vermiculite, temp domestic hot water, and roof demo - additional layer. This project is being funded with deferred maintenance funds. This change orders are within the approved budget for this project. |
VI.L. TIES Membership Withdrawal Notification
Description:
The Administration recommends approval to provide notification to TIES of the District's intent to exercise the option to withdraw membership beginning July, 2018.

VI.M. Payment of Accrued Vacation Time
Description:
The Board Personnel and Negotiations Committee recommends that the Board authorize payment to Superintendent Willie Jett in the total amount of $3,598.27 as payment of five (5) days of accrued but unused vacation leave due to extraordinary demands on the Superintendent's schedule during the 2016-2017 contract year.
