6.A. Approval of Minutes, bills, and recommended employment
Description:
The following have been submitted for approval:
Item 1: July 24, 2023, Regular Board of Education meeting minutes Item 2: Bills submitted for payment Item 3: Pursuant to Board Policy which references Wisconsin Statutes Sections 111, 118, 121, all employees who require Wisconsin state certification shall be recommended by the superintendent to the Board of Education for approval. All recommendations presented at this time are pursuant to approved Board policies and accompanying administrative procedures. Recommended Action: Approve minutes, bills, and employment as presented. |

6.B. Consideration and/or Action to approve August 7, 2023 Educational Program Committee recommendations
Description:
The Educational Program Committee met on August 7, 2023, to hear an update on standards based grading at Meyer Middle School, an update on the English Language Arts resource adoption, an update on high quality teaching and learning work happening in the district, and finally to hear an update on summer school.
Recommended Action: None, informational only.

Description:
Administration will present the 2023-24 Student & Athletic/Activities Handbooks for Board approval.
Recommended Action: 1. Approve the 2023-24 RFSD Elementary Student Handbook. 2. Approve the 2023-24 Meyer Middle School Student Handbook. 3. Approve the 2023-24 Meyer Middle School Athletic Handbook. 4. Approve the 2023-24 River Falls High School Student Handbook. 5. Approve the 2023-24 River Falls High School Activities Handbook. 6. Approve the 2023-24 Renaissance Charter Academy Student Handbook. |

6.D. Approve the Service Agreement with the University of WI- River Falls, University Preschool Program, to share the cost of a special education paraprofessional for the 2023-2024 school year
Description:
Director of Student Services, Mark Inouye, will present a new service agreement to the Board for approval to share the cost of a special education paraprofessional with the University of WI- River Falls, University Preschool Program, for the 2023-2024 school year.
Recommended Action: Approve the Service Agreement with the University of WI-River Falls, University Preschool Program, to share the cost of a special education paraprofessional for the 2023-2024 school year as presented.

6.E. Approve 66.0301 agreements
Description:
For the last several years, the Prescott, Ellsworth, and River Falls School Districts have shared a teacher for students with hearing impairments. Administration wishes to continue the agreement for the 2023-2024 school year. Also needing approval is a Project SEARCH 66.0301 agreement with the Ellsworth and St. Croix Central School Districts.
Recommended Action: 1. Approve the Teacher of the Hearing Impaired 66.0301 agreement with the Prescott and Ellsworth School Districts for the 2023-2024 school year. 2. Approve Project SEARCH 66.0301 agreement with Ellsworth and St. Croix Central School Districts for the 2023-2024 school year. |

6.F. Approve 2023-24 School Bus Purchase
Description:
Annually, the district purchases replacement school buses. The goal is to maintain a bus replacement schedule that provides our community with safe, efficient student transportation. Route buses are typically operated on daily bus routes for 10-11 years. Buses may be retained as backup buses and then stripped of parts for use in other bus repairs.
Recommended Action: Approve the purchase of (1) Freightliner Route Bus from Nelson's with budgeted funds from the 2023-2024 school year.
