Description:
The purpose of the Wildcat Roadmap to Reentry document is to: Develop a PK-12 organizational structure for the school year 2020-2021 to include contingency plans for an abnormal September 1 start (as well as possible intermittent pandemic interruptions mid-year 2020-21). The Roadmap is intended to become a playbook of nimble actions and flexible future educational options to allow our district to safely respond to any school interruptions (due to COVID), in an equitable manner, while supporting the social-emotional and academic learning needs of ALL our students and their families.

7.B. Consideration and/or Action to determine the "Learning Environment" beginning September 1, 2020
Description:
The "Learning Environment" is defined as three options:
1. IN PERSON Learning Environment (At School)If COVID numbers are low enough then everyone is welcome to come back to school (with significant new mitigation plans in place at all schools and buses) Possibly have grades 6-12 at-home on Wednesday’s receiving "live" synchronous classes for 3-4 weeks. 2. AT-HOME/DISTANCE Learning Environment (at Home)All students will receive a remote, at-home/distance learning experience (significant improvements are being initiated to improve upon how this at-home/distance learning ended the 2019-20 school year.) 3. HYBRID Learning Environment (Combo with some kids at-home with some in-school)In the hybrid model there are several variations/options. including the following Hybrid options: A. K-5 held in all schools -- K-5 in school but Grades 6-12 at-home/distance learning...Use all schools to create smaller elementary cohort groups to mitigate viral spread and improve contact tracing abilities. (RF4C/4K is determined separately) B. Two-day in-school learning -- Grades 6-12 attend in-school two days per week...50% come on Monday/Tuesday and the other 50% attend on Thursday/Friday....Wednesday = independent learning at-home, teacher preparation/office hours, deep clean between cohort groups...PK-5 attend in-school 5 days per week in their traditional school setting. C. Thanksgiving -- Grades PK-12 attend school until Thanksgiving then break into at-home/distance learning through January 4 |
