Description:
Due to new regulations by the Federal Government, we now can establish a new capitalization threshold for purposes of classifying individual capital assets from $5,000 to $10,000. It is recommended by our Auditor to amend the policy.

8.A.22. Approve adoption of the Health Insurance Plan Contribution Rate for 2026-2027.
Description:
We recommended last year to cap our contribution to the current level of $421 per employee per month and end this escalating cost to the district.

8.B. Consider action on adoption of the 2026-27 VISD Compensation Plan.
Description:
Due to changes in the past legislative session that drastically altered our salary and pay schedules, we have streamlined the compensation approval process to a single board action and are providing an annual compensation plan rather than individual categories of compensation, supplements, and stipends. We believe this to be more efficient and easier to understand.

8.C. Annual Review and Adoption of the Investment Policy CDA(LOCAL).
Description:
The Board shall review this investment policy and investment strategies not less than annually and shall document its review in writing, which shall include whether any changes were made to either the investment policy or investment strategies.

Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.071, to consult with the District’s attorney, in person or by phone, on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Chapter 551 of the Texas Local Government Code. Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074 for the purpose of considering the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer, employee, or to hear complaints or charges against a public officer or employee. |
