F.4. Consider Updates to Policy DEC (LOCAL)
Description:
Statutory changes became effective Sept. 1 and require districts with commissioned peace officers to provide certain types of leave. HB 471 requires a district to provide paid leave to police officers and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel who experience an illness or injury related to their line of duty. The updates to Policy DEC (Local) are recommended under these new provisions.

F.5. Consider Approval of Vendor for Rekeying Doors
Description:
Request for Proposal RFP #2324-03: Rekeying Doors was released on September 14, 2023, and closed on October 12, 2023. The scope of services includes replacing the locks at 8 district locations with a more secure type of lock.
Woodard Builders Supply will provide the best value for the district. The cost for this project is $114,390.00 and will be paid through the School Safety Standards Grant. |
F.6. Consider Ratification of Vendor to Equip New Police Vehicles
Description:
The Board approved a vendor for the purchase and installation of additional equipment, necessary for a first responder vehicle, at the September 19, 2022, board meeting. Due to a backlog, the approved vendor has not been able to complete the promised work within a reasonable timeframe and is unable to provide a reasonable anticipated completion date.
The district has requested quotes, and projected completion dates, from other vendors. The previously approved cost to equip the new police vehicles was $60,771.50. Marshal Stuff, Inc. will be able to complete the work in an acceptable timeframe for $40,682.00, a savings of $20,089.50. This cost is included in the current budget. |
F.7. Consider Approval of Public Insurance Adjuster
Description:
Several locations, districtwide, received wind and hail damage during a storm in March 2023. The district will be utilizing a public insurance adjuster, not affiliated with the district’s insurance carrier, to manage the claims process. Continental Adjusters, Inc. will best represent the interests of the district in the claims process.

G.1. Consider Ratification of Vendor for Purchases of New Vehicles for Transportation
Description:
The Board approved the purchase of 3 Chevrolet Suburban’s and 1 Chevrolet Tahoe at the September 18, 2023, board meeting. Due to low inventory and long delivery timetables, the district was unable to satisfactorily secure the vehicles from the approved vendor within an acceptable timeframe.
The total approved cost for the 4 vehicles was $240,860. The total purchase price for the 4 vehicles through other vendors was $236,358. This is a savings of $4,502 and all of the vehicles have already been received by the district. The district purchased a Tahoe from Capital Chevrolet for $57,686, a Suburban from Jim Turner Chevrolet for $59,897, a Suburban from Cutshaw Chevrolet for $57,745, and a Suburban from Henson Chevrolet GMC for $61,030. |
G.2. Consider Approval of District's Tax Roll for the 2023 Year
Description:
Tax Code 26.09(a)(e) requires the Board of Trustees to review and approve the district’s tax roll. Tarrant County Tax Office calculated the tax roll and provided the attached Tax Roll Summary report.

G.3. Consider Approval of 2022-2023 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
Description:
Representatives from Pattillo, Brown, & Hill, L.L.P., the district’s independent audit firm, will present the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2023. The District received an unqualified opinion on the Financial Statements, report on Internal Controls, and Compliance over Federal Awards. See attached Annual Report for the Year Ended June 30, 2023.
