At the board finance meeting, expenditures for the month of October were reviewed. Administration recommends approval of the October 2021 disbursements totaling $1,637,629.97. This includes Board Payables of $221,951.00, Hand Payments of $373,113.45, Electronic Payments of $1,037,401.20 and Student Activity Payments of $5,164.32.

7.1. Approve BPESP Contract for 2021-22 and 2022-23:

Description:
Approve the new contract for the BPESP (Support Staff) for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 Fiscal Years.
Summary of key Items: 2.5% schedule increase for year 1 and year 2. Eliminate steps 1-3. Beginning in Year 1 (2021-22) Step 1 is old Step 4 $1,500 one-time stipend to all members Longevity changed to step 9, 14 and 19 6% for health insurance for each year

7.2. Courtyard Sidewalk for SPED Students:
Description:
A letter to MDE to add a sidewalk around the courtyard for SPED students is attached. We are asking MDE to utilize Federal SPED funds for this project, estimated to cost $27,125.00. The addition of the sidewalks to the courtyard will allow students who are wheelchair bound to access the space and increase their recreation and leisure activities.

7.3. 2021 Official Newspaper
Description:
At the beginning of the year the District designated the Belle Plaine Herald as the official newspaper of the District. Since the Belle Herald closed, a new official newspaper needs to be designated. It is recommended to designate SW News Media (Jordan Independent) as the official district newspaper for the remainder of the 2021 year.

7.4. Assurance of Compliance Reporting to MDE

The annual Assurance of Compliance Reporting to MDE is attached. This is the assurances that Belle Plaine Public Schools follows all the applicable State and Federal Laws. Approval is recommended.
