Presenter:
Michaela Larsen
Description:
This past week, we finished 16 interviews of high school students selected out of the 69 applicants hoping to be part of the Alaska Tides to Tongass Science and Arts Academy in Port Alexander this fall. Notifications have now been sent for the final round and we are receiving commitment letters back from the eight students we invited to be part of the program. It is going to be another fantastic group this year-- with students from Wyoming, Louisiana, Michigan, Texas, and more -- and we are excited to get to know these students well and give them the opportunity to experience and learn about our unique ecosystems of the Tongass through integrated science and art, along with survival and outdoor skills and world history through Alaska's roll in it.
