9.B.1. Hollis School Replacement Capital Improvement Project: Furniture and Equipment Purchases
Description:
RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the Board approve the Hollis School Replacement Capital Improvement Project furniture and equipment purchases from Capital Office, MoveStrong, Amazon, OETC, and Southeast Business Machines. PERTINENT FACTS: The overall budget for furniture, fixtures, and equipment in the Hollis School Replacement Capital Improvement Project is $177,773. Proposed items included for approval today total $175,797.57. A committee was formed in April to select furniture, fixtures, equipment, and art for the Hollis School Replacement Project. The committee developed the following considerations that they used to select the items in these proposals:
Practicality: Storage Cleaning Durability Timeless. Warranty, Wipeable The group prioritized items that have multiple uses, that support the goals of food independence, learning trades and hands-on learning. They sought items that are flexible and have universal supports - for example the furniture has castors, can be easily moved to support different locations with different needs, to create different configurations, and will easily adjust in height.
